Joanne James Russell, a Florida native, lives in St. Petersburg, Florida part of the year and Paso Robles, California the remainder of the year. She and her husband, Erich Russell, Founder and Winemaker of Rabbit Ridge Winery in California, make wine from their 450 acres of vineyards on the west side of Paso Robles and grow olives for their extra virgin olive oil. Joanne has one daughter, Sarah, and family on both coasts. Joanne has a BA in Business Management from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg. At age 18 Joanne began a career in fashion with John Baldwin stores in St. Petersburg, Florida. Joanne was the house model and later became the Ready-to-Wear and Couture Buyer. After leaving John Baldwin stores, Joanne continued modeling and started a catering company while studying gourmet cooking. During this time Joanne began writing a cookbook which was published in the fall of 2004. Joanne married Erich in 1999 and began designing all the wine labels for the winery. Joanne's love of olive trees and its olive oil inspired her to start Olive Diva, a small handcrafted soap business made from their estate grown extra virgin olive oil. Joanne produces her soap in Paso Robles, California, where the Russell's call home nine months out of the year.
